The beauty of ice has found its home – Hrebienok in the High Tatras on 18th and 19th January 2020, during the 8th year of the traditional TATRY ICE MASTER championships. For two days, sculptors from ten countries will be breathing life into 50 tonnes of ice and changing them to 35 unique ice sculptures. An eventful programme is prepared during the event for all visitors.
Skilful sculptors and artists will be working with 50 tonnes of ice to create impressive pieces based on various motifs and topics. The first day will be all about “Protecting our Planet”. The second day of the event will introduce the “World of Fairytales, as I see it”, which means it´s only up to individual sculptors what they choose to persuade the jury and public with. The ice sculptures will be lit after dark to emphasise their design and beauty. One group will be displayed next to the funicular station building, another one will be available under the second “dome” cover next to the Tatra Temple of Ice. The sculptures under the cover – in the so called Gallery of Ice Masters will be exhibited until the end of the winter season or until the end of April 2019. The sculptures in the open air will be there until they melt.

PROGRAMME CHANGE
On 18.1.2020, Sima Martausová is not performing at the Tatry Ice Master event for health reasons and is going to be replaced by EMMA DROBNÁ, a fabulous singer and Superstar winner.
Various activities will be offered during the Tatry Ice Master event – games and competitions with great prizes. Once all power saws go silent on Saturday evening, EMMA DROBNÁ will perform next to freshly-made lit sculptures. 2 VOISIS, the recent winner of the“Golden Treasure of Košice” contest, will be her opening act. And on Sunday evening, enjoy a concert of ADAM ĎURICA! After the music performances, a special fire and ice show will be presented by two ice sculpting teams on both days.
Final concepts of ice sculptors from 10 countries who qualify for the finals will be displayed in Hrebienok on 18th and 19th January 2020.
A comfortable funicular operates to Hrebienok to the Tatra Temple from the station of Starý Smokovec and tickets can be purchased comfortably at the ticket office of Starý Smokovec.
