A 4-seater cable car runs from the lower station in Tatranská Lomnica to the Štart interchange station and from there, a modern 15-seater gondola operates to Skalnaté pleso, the upper station and transfer point to Mt Lomnický štít. 

It is the pride of the resort and a similar gondola can be found in the largest Slovak ski resort, Jasná. The cable car covers an altitude difference of 597 metres, there are 37 cabins, one ride lasts 7 minutes, and the new gondola has a capacity of 2,400 people per hour. The journey begins at the lower Štart station (1,174 m) and ends at Skalnaté pleso (1,751 m).  

From there, you can take a unique red aerial tramway, which covers an altitude difference of 855 metres in 8.5 minutes. Or a chairlift to Lomnické sedlo (saddle).  

Tatranská Lomnica is one of the highest-located resorts and boasts one of Slovakia’s steepest pistes – the black run from Lomnické sedlo (saddle) with a vertical drop of 1,300 metres. The longest carving route is 6.5 kilometres long – from 2,190 metres to the lower station at Tatranská Lomnica (880 metres) – and up to 60 metres wide.  

The ski resort offers variety, so everyone can find something to suit them. In the lower part, there are blue pistes for beginners, while the mid-section near the interchange Štart station is tailored for intermediate skiers. 

Ski enthusiasts and advanced skiers will especially enjoy the sections at 1,751 metres near the popular Skalnaté pleso (tarn). The upper section, legendary Lomnické sedlo (saddle), is meant for the best skiers. The pistes are continuously groomed, but if you’re looking for a real adrenaline rush, you’ll love freeriding in the north-western so-called French mogul.
